The new models are coming thick and fast from Toyota. We’ve just been introduced to the new Auris – which is due for release early 2013, and now hot off the press, American motoring site, MotorTrend has released these images of upcoming freshly re-designed Rav4. And it’s a stunner, as you will see. These images are based on the US specification, but should offer some insight into what we can expect, when the SA spec gets released.
Toyota USA, is planning one engine variant across the entire range – 2.5-litre four-cylinder from the third-gen RAV4. Power is rated at 130 Kw and 233 Nm of torque. The US Rav4 will feature a new six-speed gearbox with the ability to shift manually as well. The new six-speed gearbox, revised software and new torque converter adds up to an improvement in fuel economy. Official figures are 7.5 L/100Km.
The transmission comes in 3 modes – Eco, Normal, and Sport. Eco is the least fun, as accelerator response is dampened, to increase fuel efficiency, with Sport being the most exciting. Sport will hold gears longer, increase shift speeds and sharpen accelerator response. This mode will also reduce power steering assistance by 20%.
Styling is much more sharper, and features a conventional lift rear door, and the spare wheel has also been moved underneath the cargo area. Toyota says the styling has been inspired by tri-athletes, and the interior is dramatically more up-scale and premium. At this stage we are not sure on the South African specification, but the US version features soft-touch stitched leather-like material along the dash area in the higher-spec models. Toys include streaming Bluetooth audio, class-leading eight airbags, 6.1-inch touch-screen infotainment display, and backup camera. The new Rav4 promises to be another winner in this segment it helped pioneer.

She's really looking very good and luxurious. But to be a full family car shewas suppose to be a seven-seater. I would apreciate to see seven seater next time because Iam a toyota user.
