Exhilarating Etios DS Sport Edition

Did you know the Toyota Etios is one of the best-selling passenger vehicles in South Africa? In October 2013 alone, Toyota’s little pocket rocket achieved a personal best 3rd on the best-seller list of cars, with 2,392 units and 4.2% market share overall. Furthermore, 2013 saw Toyota South Africa up the specs in this little star while keeping the price tag same as before. There’s a re-designed grille in front, colour-coded mirrors and door-handles across the range, a better quality finish inside with lots of chrome trimmings, and a very nice factory standard audio system with AUX and USB connections (Xs model). All of these tweaks were added in due to customer feedback from South Africa and other countries. The Etios has also been streamlined as far as aerodynamics and noise levels, and owners should expect a more refined ride than it’s predecessor.

The Xs model also get improvements in the seating with driver side height adjustable seats, improved cushion and thigh support, and adjustable headrests. Both models get a new striking icy blue back lighting for the instrument panel and the Xs model gets classy looking chrome knobs for the ventilation dials as well as a chrome trimmed gear-knob. Under the hood is still the best-in-class 1.5 Litre engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission, producing 66 Kw at 5,600 RPM. Fuel consumption is rated at 5,9 L / 100 km for the hatch and 6 L / 100 km for the sedan.
